Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon fresh or canned, drained
  • 2 large eggs for binding
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or almond flour for keto
  • ¼ cup finely diced onion
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prepare the Salmon: If using fresh salmon, cook and flake it. If using canned salmon, drain well.
  • Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine salmon, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir gently to avoid over-mixing.
  • Form the Patties: Shape the mixture into 8 equal patties (about ½ inch thick). Chill for 15 minutes for better shape retention.
  • Cook: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each patty for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve: Enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside fresh salads and roasted veggies.

Notes

  • For a spicy twist, add ½ tsp cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
  • To make gluten-free salmon patties, use almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • For a healthier option, consider baking the patties at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway.
