Ingredients
  

  • For the Olive Salad
  • ½ cup green olives chopped
  • ½ cup black olives chopped
  • ¼ cup Giardiniera chopped
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup roasted red peppers chopped
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • For the Sandwich
  • 1 large Muffuletta bread or round Italian loaf
  • ¼ lb Genoa salami
  • ¼ lb mortadella
  • ¼ lb capicola
  • ¼ lb ham
  • ¼ lb provolone cheese
  • ¼ lb mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

  • 1️⃣ Prepare the Olive Salad
  • In a bowl, combine olives, capers, garlic, Giardiniera, and roasted red peppers.
  • Add red wine vinegar, olive oil, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
  • Stir well and marinate for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight).
  • 2️⃣ Assemble the Sandwich
  • Slice the Muffuletta bread in half horizontally.
  • Spread half of the olive salad on the bottom half of the bread.
  • Layer the meats (salami, mortadella, capicola, and ham).
  • Add the cheeses (provolone and mozzarella).
  • Spread the remaining olive salad on the top half of the bread.
  • Place the top half over the filling and press firmly.
  • 3️⃣ Let It Rest & Serve
  • Wrap the sandwich tightly and let it sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Slice into quarters or eighths and serve at room temperature.

Substitutes for Muffuletta bread: Ciabatta or a Sourdough Discard Sandwich Bread.
