Ingredients
– 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
– 1 onion, diced
– 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
– 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
– 15 oz can tomato sauce
– 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
– 8-10 lasagna noodles, broken
– 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
– 1-2 tsp dried basil
– 1 tsp dried oregano
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat and cook ground meat until browned.
2. Add onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 10-15 minutes.
4. Add lasagna noodles, cooking until al dente (about 10 minutes).
5. Stir in ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan, allowing cheeses to melt.
6. Garnish with fresh basil and extra Parmesan if desired.

– For a vegetarian option, use mushrooms or plant-based meat.
